Carlsbad Softball Association July 18, 2006 CSA GIRLS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS… AND NEED YOUR HELP! The Carlsbad Softball 16U "Aces" finished second in the ASA SoCal State Tournament in Palmdale and automatically qualified for the 16U National Tournament in McAllen, Texas held July 31 through August 6th. Battling extreme heat (over 100 degrees) and strong winds the Aces beat cross-town rival Oceanside and then came back from a 7-1 deficit to overcome a powerful Diamond Bar team that hadn’t allowed more than two runs in any previous game. The games were filled with terrific defense, excellent pitching, timely hitting and incredible team work. This team showed tremendous heart having to come back from 4 and 6 run deficits to make it to the finals. With this second place finish in the sate tournament the 16U Carlsbad Aces become only the second team in the history of CSA to qualify for the National Tournament. Congratulations to the following young ladies and coaches:
Carlsbad Softball Association is proud of the 16U Carlsbad Aces and is stepping up to the plate with a donation to help them keep this dream alive. But even with player parents paying and a CSA donation this team will not be able to cover travel and lodging expenses without your help. We are asking you to sponsor our team and help us go to Nationals. The fundraiser we have chosen to do is a "Sponsor T-Shirt". The person or companies sponsoring us will receive a T-Shirt with their name or organization printed on the back along with all of the other sponsors. All donations will be welcomed, but in order to have your name printed on the T-Shirt the minimum donation is $50.00. CSA wishes the best of luck to the 16U Carlsbad Aces with their fundraising efforts. Go show the nation that the best softball in America is played in CARLSBAD! m-r August 1st Greetings from Texas. We arrived in time to play our first game on Monday. Our game was a team from Katy, Tx.. We played 5 innings winning by the score of 4-0. We play again tonite @ 6:00 p.m.. I will keep you posted and try to send pictures asap. August 4th
