Code of Conduct Advanced Players Selecting All Stars Grievance Policy Softball Terms

 

Purpose of Advanced Placement

The purpose of advanced placement is to allow players with exceptional abilities which exceed those of their peers to play at a level which is appropriate to their skills

Definitions:

Advanced Placement: A player plays in a division that is advanced of her chronological age.

Age Placement: The player plays in the division that is appropriate based on her chronological age.

Guidelines for Advanced Placement:

o  All divisions are eligible for advanced placement based on the following:

-Second year 6U (T-ball) can advance to 8U

-Second year 8U can advance to 10U

-Second year 10U can advance to 12U

-Second year 12U can advance to 14U

-Second year 14U can advance to 16U.

o  There are NO EXCEPTIONS to the above eligibility guidelines. 

o  Girls must be approved for advanced placement by (simple majority) board vote.

o  A skills evaluation will be conducted if requested by three or more board members.

o The league’s position is that we will respect the request of the parents for advanced placement in circumstances that are appropriate.

o  By requesting this advanced placement decision the parents are solely responsible for their child’s safety as a result of playing in an advanced placement age level.

o  Players that play in the advanced placement division during the regular season must attend the all-star evaluation for their age division, and if selected, play all-stars in their age division.

Exception:  Since there are no 6U all-stars, 6U advanced placement players may be evaluated and selected for 8U all-stars.

o  Before deciding on advanced placement please consider that your daughter may be one of the best players in her age division, but might be an average or below average player in the advanced placement division.

o  THIS PLACEMENT IS FINAL once your daughter is drafted and placed on a team.  Parents are free to change their mind up to the day of the draft, but once drafted, advanced placement is FINAL.

 

Advanced Placement Procedures:

  1. Parents who inquire about advance placement will be given an Advanced Placement Request Form and this Advanced Placement Policies Form
  2. Both signed forms must be submitted to the CSA Player’s Agent at least 4 weeks prior to the draft.
  3. Each player requesting advanced placement must have board approval, by simple majority.  An optional skills evaluation may be required.
  4. Players requesting advanced placement will be notified of their status prior to the draft.
  5. The board (by vote) has the option of considering special circumstances for advanced placement status of players who were late registrants or unable to attend an advanced placement skills evaluation.

We have read and understand the above guidelines and it is our decision to request advanced placement for our daughter.
