FPGS Annual Football Incentive Program
|
Rule #1 |
It's a friendly
game. All games (all weeks) for the regular NFL football season must
be played (picked). Except first game first week is not counted.
Picks are made online from anywhere via the Internet starting at the http://www.strait2glory.com/fpgs/Handlers.aspx homepage. If you are going on vacation, or won’t be able to get
Online during any given week, then the picks can be made in advance and
selected week(s) ahead of time during the NFL Football season year. This
feature helps prevent missing a week or missing the cutoff. Be aware that
odds are established weekly (see Rule #3) and they will not be projected in
advance. Players that do miss the cutoff (including late entry participants)
will receive an overall average of wins and loses for the week minus 1.70
wins rounded down to the nearest whole number. Example: Say, the average is 8.82
wins and 7.18 loses for a 16 game week (this is considered a winning week for
all participants) 8.82 minus 1.70 =
7.12 would round down to 7 wins and 9 loses and would be given each player
who did not play that week. If the average is
8.59 wins and 7.41 loses for a 16 game week (closer to 50/50 but still a
winning week) 8.59 minus 1.70 = 6.89 would round down to 6 wins and
10 loses. |
|
Rule #2 |
Donation of $75
is requested to play the entire season for the whole NFL year. If you can not
or wish to not donate, please communicate your reasons so that other
arrangements can be made for you. This donation will be used to project all
participants each week for the regular and post season football play on the
Internet. This breakdown is similar to a $3.20 a week processing and handling
expense per participant ($3 for 22 weeks processing + $9 handling for the
conclusion). In other words, for the
17 weeks of the regular season play, $1.60 from all players each week will go
to the weekly winner prizes and $1.60 will go to the accumulated regular
season placed finisher prizes. For the last 5 weeks of Post Season play, the
full $3.20 per players electing to play post season will go to weekly winner
prize. See: Actual Audit
Please make donation ASAP within the first week of the
regular NFL football season and before program entry closes. Note: program
entry can close at anytime so don’t be left out if you want to participate. This
donation helps cover operating expenses for 27 weeks of playing time and also
helps pay for prizes. Prizes should only be given away after everybody has
donated or other arrangements have been made for them. Thank you. |
|
Rule #3 |
There will be odds (points added per game) to establish Favorite and Underdog teams for each game. These Odds will be posted for the incentive program usually on Tuesday afternoon and can be locked in at that time (i.e. the added points won't change or float during the week once they are established). There can be half (½) and whole number point forecasting. Sure picks are almost eliminated when one team has been given added points. Also, when highly favored teams play overly under dogged teams without points as even or heads-up Pick’em game, a wash-out can occur. A wash-out will occur when all participants pick the same team to win. Having odds on games also helps prevent this. Odds will be taken from a consensus of popular Vegas
Sport books facilities such as:, Caesars Harrah’s EVEN or Plus zero
(+0) points are given to both teams when Pick'em or no points are forecast
with the sports book or local newspaper. EVEN or Plus zero (+0) points are given to both teams
when the game is “OFF” the board. This can happen when the condition of a
star player’s injury is not known or a coach has just been fired or hasn’t
decided on which player he will start, etc., in which case nothing can be
done about a possible wash-out. Again, points will not change once forecasted
on Tuesday and established into the system. |
|
Rule #4 |
A winner will be decided in all games where possible (only WIN
picks or LOSS picks are counted / Neutral picks are tossed out - no PUSHes). A favored team (the
team WITHOUT points) always uses only its actual points scored to determine
the outcome of the pick. The underdog team
always adds the points given them to the actual points they scored to
determine the outcome of the pick. The favored team
wins the pick if the total (favored score matched against the underdog score
plus points) is greater. The underdog team wins the pick if the total (actual
underdog score plus points) is greater than the favored team score. Where the underdog team’s score with the added points match the
favored team’s score… this is a Neutral game and is thrown out and not
counted. Where Half (½) points are part of the underdog’s added points, a winner and a loser will always be determined and can never be thrown out. In the event where no points (EVEN GAMES) are forecast
and the actual game ends in a tie... this game is thrown out and not
accumulated and counted, but the chances of this happening are very unlikely. |
|
Rule #5 |
There is one prize awarded each week to the player(s) who pick the most wins and comes closer to matching the tiebreaker. There can be multiple winners per week in which case the weekly prize of equal value is awarded between the winners. The regular season weekly prize will be an award by points worth the number of participants playing in the incentive program for any given season. That is: total processing cost divided by two then divided by 17. In general, 1.5 points from all players goes to the weekly winner and 1.5 points from all players goes to the top five finishers for the 17 weeks of the regular season play. Total Accumulated point divisions are rounded down to the nearest
whole point. The Weekly prize will normally be awarded to the winning player before
the following week begins. Note: The preseason and post season weekly prize (where participation
is not compulsory) will consist of an award on a winner take all bases
according to the total number of participants entered for and post season
week (2 times the number of participants playing that week for preseason and 3 times the number of participants playing that week for
post season). For preseason and
playoffs, participation is not mandatory or required, except playing the
whole NFL season is a way of extending the football incentive program and
creates a sweepstakes condition at the end of the season and helps to promote as many participants as
possible in winning a week. The
American Bowl and/or Hall of Fame weekend begins the season and the pro-bowl
game ends the NFL football year. |
|
Rule #6 |
The tiebreaker
rule (if necessary) will be applied as follows… 1. Against the
last game to end a NFL games week (usually Monday night regular season and
Sunday afternoon during the post season). 2. Determine how
many actual points will be scored by both teams for this one
game (actual scores added together = result). Note: Added
Underdog points are not used here. 3. The player(s) matching the most wins for the week
and whose tiebreaker projection matches or comes closer (high or low / over or under) to any other projection with
the same amount of wins will be determined the winner(s) for the week using
this last game. A player can
conceivably still win if they forget to enter the tiebreaker score ‑ a
zero point score is applied when they do. |
|
Rule #7 |
Turn in time for all (17 regular season, 4 post season,
4 pre-season, REMEMBER to make your entry early especially when there are Thursday and Saturday games, etc. (24 hours in advance is recommended). Upon making at least one selection and initialing the
pick process (that is: pushing the SUBMIT button), you can go back and make
changes up until game time. After game time though, the week selection
process will be locked. If you had forgotten to select one or more picks upon
the initial pick submission, they will be defaulted to the AWAY (visitor)
picks. If you need assistance or need a question answered on
the selection process, Support and Help is available. The Recap
screen of all picks is updated automatically as picks are submitted Online
during the current NFL week. Be sure to verify that you have been projected
on the recap list to ensure that the pick selection process was completed
successfully. There are occasions where pick projections do not get processed
because of time-out problems electronically. So be sure to verify your
picks!. Also, waiting to the last minute to make your pick selections in
order to see what trend all the participants are selecting is not
recommended. The consequences of this action might be missing the cutoff or
being in the middle of the cutoff getting stuck in an electronic traffic jam
and having to miss, etc. In any event, avoid getting locked out
inadvertently by putting in your picks in ahead of the cutoff time. Any discretion on
the kinds of picks made against the kind of picks entered will be resolved by
select participant committee. |
|
Rule #8 |
Those participants with the most wins at the end of the regular season will receive yearly prizes as
follows...... 1st
place prize will consist of an award worth 45% of the total
processing cost divided by two. 2nd place prize will consist of an
award worth 25% of the total processing cost divided by two. 3rd place prize will consist
of an award worth 15% of the total processing cost divided by two. 4th
place prize will consist of an award worth 10% of the total
processing cost divided by two. 5th
place prize will consist of an award worth 5%
of the total processing cost divided by two. That's it (only 5
places). There can be yearly ties in which case place finishes
are combined and the prizes are evenly divided to players in those positions. Last Place prize will consist of an
award worth a regular season weekly winner point prize minus 15%.

Rule #9 |
Only 50 (fifty) players are allowed in the football
incentive program per year. CHOOSE a seven
letter first name (and a 16 letter last name if needed) to identify all
players in the program uniquely. Please don't
request to change this name after the first two weeks of the NFL season. One to Fifty (1 through 50)
numbers are reserved to all participants (sorted bottom up) on a first come
first serve basis. |
